Stakeholder Meeting of Thailand's prototype was held in Bangkok on May 7, 2013. 21 participants from 12 organizations related to fishery (e.g. National Fisheries Association of Thailand, SEAFDEF, and Royal Thai Navy) are joined the meeting. Mr. Surajit Intarachit, Deputy Director General for Fisheries, DOF opened the floor and several discussions were followed.
The other researches who are working on conserve fishing area and collect data in coastal zone of Thailand were shown in the meeting. The participants recognized importance of sharing the data of other related studies and communicating with biologists and other researchers to improve the results. Especially inclusion of pollution and run off from rivers in the Gulf of Thailand will make significant progress toward further achievement. In conclusion, Mr. Surajit Intharachit expressed that this result is very important and interesting and requested to improve the model for Gulf of Thailand too to use in DOF for conservation as operational use.
