We gathered the questions frequently asked by PI and joint researcher concerning data ordering and others.

Data search/Order/Download

I can not access to "AUIG-2" web page.
Where should I search ALOS and ALOS-2 data?

The "AUIG-2" web page and all services provided by AUIG2 have not been available.

Please go to "G-Portal (Globe Portal System)" and search ALOS and ALOS-2 data.

If you use G-Portal only for data searching, you will not be required to login or carry out user registration.

Please refer to the following video about ALOS-2 data searching with G-Portal.

When I search ALOS-2 data over Polar areas with G-Portal, the data searching is not performed correctly.

When you change the background map display to a Polar Stereographic map and specify the region to search on G-Portal, data search will not be performed correctly.

If you search ALOS-2 data over Polar areas, please set Google street map as the background map display on G-Portal and try searching.

If you have any trouble searching data over polar region, please contact EORC Order Desk with the following information.

Please let me know how to order ALOS-2 data.

You can search and order ALOS-2 data via G-Portal (Globe Portal System).

However, you can order the data under the condition that your RA contract with JAXA should be concluded.

And, please log into G-Portal with your User ID provided from EORC Order Desk.

Regarding how to order ALOS-2 data via G-Portal, please refer to the following video.

I got a G-Portal User ID after user registration to G-Portal.
However, when I log into G-Portal with my G-Portal User ID and search ALOS-2 data, the "Production" button does not appear on the search result and I can not order it. Why?

Would you please log into G-Portal by using the G-Portal User ID provided by EORC Order Desk?

After I searched ALOS-2 data on G-Portal, the "Production" button and the "Download" button were displayed in the search results.
What is the difference between the "Production" button and the "Download" button?
Even if I click the "Download" button, the screen for the data order will appear.

The "Download" button is for ordering "Open & Free ScanSAR Products" that are open to all G-Portal registered users.

The "Production" button is for ordering ALOS-2 standard products other than Open & Free ScanSAR products.


When logging in to G-Portal by using G-Portal User ID that EORC Order Desk provided to the PI or Joint researcher who has a contract with JAXA, "Production" button is displayed on the search result.

After you click the "Production" button, you can specify the processing levels or other order parameters you need on "parameter specification screen" and order.

However, the number of scenes that can be ordered is within the Order Quota notified by the EORC Order Desk.

I ordered the product in wrong processing level/in wrong parameter setting by mistake.
Can I cancel the product?
Can you provide the product with correct processing level/parameter setting?

It is not possible to cancel or change the product after clicking the "Order" button, and also not possible to recover your order quota in this case under the JAXA's policy.

You will be recquired to reorder the correct product using your remaining order quota.

I ordered ALOS-2 data through G-Portal, but I haven't received a notification that my order has been accepted.

G-Portal will not send a notification email for your order acceptance when you click the "order" button.

However, please confirm that an order acceptance message and an order ID will be displayed on a pop-up screen when clicking "order" button and G-Portal accepted your order.

Or, you can confirm the status of your order on the screen of "alos-2 order" tab in the ALOS-2 searching results.

Please let me know how to download ALOS-2 data I ordered.
Can I cancel the product?
Can you provide the product with correct processing level/parameter setting?

Data download is only available via SFTP.


When the product is ready to be provided after ordering, a notification e-mail from G-Portal will be sent to the PI’s registered email address.

This email contains information for downloading your data via SFTP.

Please refer to the notification e-mail for data provision completion and download the data via SFTP.


Please access to G-Portal SFTP by using FTP client software or the ftp commands.

Regarding how to access to SFTP server, please refer to the G-Portal User's Manual from the URL below.

I can not access to G-Portal SFTP server.
Access to G-Portal SFTP server is denied.

・Depending on the organization, access to the outside SFTP may be prohibited by policy.

In that case, please consult your network administrator.

・For security reasons, G-Portal uses TCP port 2051 instead of normal 22 for SFTP.

If access to G-Portal SFTP is denied, please share this port number (2051) with your network administrator for assistance.

Order quota

When and how my order quota is allocated?

Order quota depends on each contract.

Can you increase my order quota?
Basically, we can not increase it.
When is the expiration date of my quota?
Can I not use my quota after the deadline?

The expiration date depends on each contract.

You can not use your quota after the expiration.

I would like to confirm the remaining scenes of my quota which I can order.

The order quota information will be displayed at the bottom of the order cart screen appeared after click "Production" button on the searching result on G-Portal.

Observation plan

I would like to confirm the observation plan of BOS (ALOS-2 Basic Observation Senario).

The ALOS-2 weekly observation plan is available as a KML file from the URL below.

Is there any possibility that the observation plan will be changed or rejected?

The observation schedule is not guaranteed.

Any observation plan may be changed or canceled without any notice due to emergency observations such as disasters or special reasons for the satellite operation.
