We gathered the questions frequently asked by PI and joint researcher concerning data ordering and others.

Data search/Order/Download

Where can I search ALOS, ALOS-2/ALOS-4 data?

You can search for ALOS-2 and ALOS-4 data using AUIG4.
For detailed instructions on how to search data via AUIG4, please refer to the "User's Manual" available on the "Help" page of AUIG4.

How can I order ALOS, ALOS-2 and ALOS-4 data?

• About ordering ALOS-2 data
Please note that ordering of ALOS-2 data is currently suspended due to system migration. Once ordering via AUIG4 becomes available, the EORC Order Desk will notify all PIs by email.

• About ordering ALOS-4 data
ALOS-4 data can be ordered via AUIG4.
Please note that placing an order requires a valid contract with JAXA.
Information regarding the account required for placing an order, as well as important notes, has already been sent to PIs by email from the EORC Order Desk. Please check the email.
If you have any questions, please contact the EORC Order Desk with the following information:

• About ordering ALOS and ALOS-2 Open & Free data
Orders for ALOS and ALOS-2 Open & Free data will continue to be placed through G-Portal, as before.
Please note that the contact point for inquiries regarding Open & Free data is not the EORC Order Desk.

I placed an order with incorrect processing levels or parameters.
Can I cancel the order or exchange the product?
Or is it possible to recover the order quota?

It is not possible to cancel an order or exchange the product. In addition, order quotas cannot be recovered in such cases.
Please place a new order for the correct product using your remaining order quota.

How can I download the data ordered via AUIG4?
Can I download the data via SFTP?

Once the data you ordered via AUIG4 is ready, an email titled "Notification of Download Availability for Your Ordered Product" will be sent to your registered email address.
After receiving the email, you can download the data using either of the following methods:

① Download from AUIG4
Log in to AUIG4 and click "Product Order History" under "Product Order".
Select the data you wish to download, and then click the "Download" button.

② Download via SFTP
For instructions on accessing SFTP, please log in to AUIG4 and refer to the "Help" page titled "How to Access the AUIG4 SFTP".

Please extend the download available period.
Due to the expiration of the download available period, the data has been deleted. Please restore them.

The download period cannot be extended, and deleted data cannot be restored.
Please reorder the data using your remaining order quota.

A scene ordered via AUIG4 is split into multiple files and cannot be opened.

A scene ordered via AUIG4 is provided as multiple files due to its large data size. Please download all files.
To merge the split files, please use the "Product File Merging Tool" and refer to the "Merging Tool Manual" for detailed instructions. Both are available on the AUIG4 "Help" page.

Order quota

When and how my order quota is allocated?

Order quota depends on each contract.
For the details, please contact EORC Order Desk with the PI number and PI name.

Is it possible to increase my order quota?
Basically, it is not possible to increase your order quota.
When is the expiration date of my order quota?
Can I use my order quota after the deadline?

The expiration date of your order quota depends on each contract.

How can I check my order quota and the remaining number of scenes.

The order quota and remaining number of scenes for ALOS‑4 are available on AUIG4.
After logging into AUIG4, please select "Cart" under "Product Order". The order quota information for each account is displayed in the lower‑left area of the screen.

The order quota and remaining number of scenes for ALOS‑2 will also be available on the same page once the system migration has been completed.

Contract procedure

Concerning the change of user information, such as PI, e-mail address, organization and CI, please let me know the procedure to do.

Observation plan

How can I check the Basic Observation Scenario (BOS) for ALOS‑2/ALOS‑4?
How can I check the observation plan for my study area?

For information on the Basic Observation Scenario (BOS) for ALOS‑2 and ALOS‑4, please refer to the following pages of the ALOS Research and Application Project (EORC, JAXA).

How can I check the observation plan for ALOS-2/ALOS-4 for next week?

• ALOS-2:
The ALOS‑2 weekly observation plan is available as a KML file at the URL below.


• ALOS-4:
The ALOS‑4 weekly observation plan for the following Monday through Sunday is created every Thursday and posted on AUIG4.
From Friday onward, you can check this plan by searching for data using the "Product Search" in AUIG4.

Is there any possibility that the observation plan will be changed or rejected?

The observation schedule is not guaranteed.

Any observation plan may be changed or canceled without any notice due to emergency observations such as disasters or special reasons for the satellite operation.

Is it possible to request acquisitions for my study site?

In principle, individual acquisition requests cannot be accepted.
