    JAXA Realtime weather watch (NEXRA3.0) has started providing forecasts up to 10 days ahead
    The weather forecasts provided by NEXRA3.0 have been extended from the previous 5-day forecast range to 10 days. By advancing the display time using options such as "+1 hour" or "+1 day," users can monitor future weather forecasts.
    *The actual number of forecast days available may vary depending on the operational status of the JAXA Supercomputer System (JSS) and other factors.*
    In addition, we have started releasing part of the NEXRA3.0 data via an FTP site. Please refer to this page for information on data use.

    Termination of Updates for GSMaP Algorithm Version 7
    The updates for the standard products of the Global Satellite Mapping of Precipitation (GSMaP) algorithm version 7 (v7), which have been provided via the FTP site, were terminated on May 31, 2026. This applies to the following products:
       GSMaP_MVK
       GSMaP_Gauge
    In addition, updates for the v7 near-real-time products will also be terminated shortly. This applies to the following products:
       GSMaP_NRT
       GSMaP_Gauge_NRT
    Please note that the previous v7 data, as well as algorithm versions 6 (v6) and 8 (v8), will continue to be available.

    Details of the affected products, FTP site directories, and their respective availability periods are as follows:

    Standard products (GSMaP_MVK, GSMaP_Gauge)
       /standard/v7    (March 1, 2014 – May 31, 2026)
       /HDF/standard/v7    (January 1, 2024 – May 31, 2026)

    Predicting global terrestrial water cycle at high resolution! -Today’s Earth - Global has been renewed-
    TE-Global, a global terrestrial hydrological simulation system that utilizes GSMaP, has been upgraded to a 0.1-degree resolution with an approximately 5-day forecast range. Its web page has now been released (data distribution via the FTP site is scheduled for a later date). Please also see the following article on the release (Japanese only).

    JAXA have started to provide a new version (Version 08) of GPM standard products.

    News
    12 years have passed since the GPM Core Observatory was launched!
    12 years have passed since the GPM Core Observatory was launched from the JAXA Tanegashima Space Center on February 28, 2014! The GPM Core Observatory continues to observe the global precipitation till now. Taking over the will of TRMM, we hope that the GPM Core Observatory will live longer.

    The second edition of the Guidelines for using the Global Satellite Mapping of Precipitation (GSMaP) was released.
    These guidelines are based on the GSMaP training materials provided by JAXA. These guidelines are intended to serve as a textbook for using GSMaP.
