Estimated tanker oil-spill of the coast of Guimaras island in Philippines by "Daichi" (ALOS) on August 25, 2006

A tanker oil-spill occurred on the Panay Gulf about 20 km west of Binalbagan in Negros Island, Philippines at 7:30am(UT) on August 11, 2006. PALSAR (Phased Array type L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar) of "Daichi" (ALOS) observed the area around the accident site on August 2. The latitude and longitude of the estimated site is 10.22 degrees N and 122.68 degrees E.

Though darkish swaths in the red circle imply that the swaths are oil-spill areas, it cannot be concluded to be oil-spill without local information.
