Forest Resources

The satellite images of Trans-Amazonian Highway show scars of deforestation with a fishbone-pattern spread around it. Tropical rainforests play an important role by absorbing carbon dioxide and generating oxygen. However, the rain forests are gradually disappearing due to deforestation and burning. Using these images we can distinguish logging areas and plantations. This information could be used to protect the forests and the inhabitants.
