From 7 August to 24 August 2001, the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) satellite altitude was raised from 350km to 400 km in order to extend its lifetime. (The information about the boost is here.
NASDA and the Precipitation Radar (PR) team modified PR standard algorithms for operation at 400 km altitude and validated them after the boost was completed. As a result, we will begin releasing PR standard products developed after the boost from 30 November 2001.
We are releasing the products between 24 August (granule number 21541) and 29 November 2001 after reprocessing them using new algorisms. Please note that no data were recorded during the orbit-raising period (7-24 August 2001).

The reliability of the PR level 3 products on August 2001 is worse than for other months because they were produced using the 13 days before and after raising the orbit. Please refer to caveats for handling the products after the orbit was raised.
