First Announcement and Call for Papers
Introduction
In the framework of CEOS Working Group on Calibration and Validation, the next SAR
subgroup workshop will be organized by the National Space Development Agency of
Japan (NASDA) and the European Space Agency (ESA) in Tokyo, Japan, from 2 to 5 April 2001.
Topics
Specialist papers are invited to review the performance of operating or planning
airborne and spaceborne SAR sensors. The following Calibration and Validation issues will be
addressed:
Workshop Organization
The workshop will be held in plenary sessions including selected papers and poster presentations as well as more focused working group sessions allowing for shorter oral
presentations on specific topics. All accepted abstracts will be included in the technical programme of the workshop.
Who May Attend
Attendance is open to CEOS representatives and affiliates as well as to the SAR scientific and user community. It is expected that there will be participation from
international and national space agencies operating or planning airborne and
spaceborne SAR sensors.

Abstract Submission

Information on how to submit an abstract are available online
Authors will be notified of the decision of the scientific committee by 31 January
2001. Authors whose papers have been accepted will then receive instructions for the preparation
of their full length paper, due not later than 31 March 2001, for inclusion in the workshop proceedings.
Proceedings
Full-length papers must be provided before the workshop (31 March 2001) in order to
distribute the proceedings by the CD-ROM after the workshop.
Local Arrangements
Block bookings of local hotels will be made in various price categories and at preferential rates. A hotel reservation form as well as further information on transport, etc... will be
sent in January 2001.
