8th IPWG and 5th IWSSM Joint Workshop
Bologna, 3-7 October, 2016
PHILIPPE CHAMBON
Dr Chambon received the M.S. degree in fundamental physics with major in remote sensing and the Ph.D. degree in 2011 with a thesis on the use of satellite observations to estimate precipitation from space. |
He contributed to design the precipitation estimation Level-4 product for the joined ISRO-CNES satellite mission Megha-Tropiques. He was with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center within the science team of the GPM satellite mission as a postdoctoral fellow for one year to work on rainy and cloudy satellite observations assimilation for numerical weather prediction. |
He is now working at Météo France and his main research interest is on the use of microwave satellite observations for improving predictions of
components of the water cycle through several space programmes (Megha-Tropiques, GPM). |
