Typhoon "Wipha" (typhoon No. 26) occurred near the Mariana Islands on October 11, 2013 and moved to northwest direction as increasing the intensity. The typhoon kept its strong intensity and passed through the northern part of Izu Island on the morning of October 16, 2013. It brought record rainfall to Tokyo and Izu Ohshima and caused extensive damage of boulder flow. On October 16, Typhoon "Francisco" (typhoon No. 27) occurred near the Mariana Islands and followed a path similar to Typhoon "Wipha". The combination of this typhoon and active stationary front in western Japan brought heavy rain in various regions in Japan and also disrupt the transportation.
