AVNIR CEOS DISK FORMAT

Introduction

This appendix describes the formats for disk products generated by the ADEOS AVNIR Processing Subsystem (AAPS). The format used is exactly that used in Appendix B and, therefore, the files illustrated in Figure B-1 and Figure B-2 will also comprise the disk product format. The contents of each file can be found in Table B-4 through Table B-17.

Disk Product File Layout

For the AAPS disk product, a disk file will be created for each file listed in . The disk product files generated by the AAPS will all reside in single directory allocated for the particular product order. The name used for this directory will be based on the product order id. For BIL products there will be 5 files and the suffix to each disk file name shall be the acronym for the CEOS format file name (e.g., vdf = volume directory file). For BSQ products there will be (3*N+2) files, where N is the number of bands in the product. Figure C-1 and Figure C-2 show the contents of the product order directory, and the disk file names associated with each product file , for a BIL and a BSQ product.

The CEOS file naming convention is such that each file will be named using the D1 cassette number, followed by the start of product recording number, followed by the file number within the product. For example, D129000501000020.01 would be the name of the first file of the product written to D1 cassette D12900501, starting at file number 20. The remaining files of this product will then be named D129000501000020.02, D129000501000020.03, D129000501000020.04, etc.
