ADEOS-II

Overview

Advanced Earth Observing Satellite-II(ADEOS-II) "midori-II" which is the successor to Advanced Earth Observing Satellite(ADEOS) mission will take an active part in research of the global climate changes, practical utilization for weather phenomena, fishery, etc., such as seizing the mechanism of global environmental changes including global warming.

The Committee of Earth Environmental Observation aims at contributing to studying the global climatic changes and ADEOS-II is recommended to be positioned as a satellite with the main objectives of clarifying chlorophyll, distribution of the planting of wildlife supporting or vegetation to play an important role in the entire global water energy circulation (GEWEX) of the World Climate Research Planning (WCRP), Climatic Variation Research (CLIVAR), International Biosphere Planning (IGBP), Global Climate Marine Observation System (GCOS) and carbon circulation related to Global Ocean Observation System (GOOS).
