The data observed by earth observation satellites are transmitted to the Earth Observation Center (EOC) and other related facilities, which can receive it with large parabolic antennae. The data are processed and analyzed by computer to make satellite images we usually see.
Data analysis means to process the observation data according to purpose for instantaneous understanding. As typical data analysis work, we introduce the following three types of color composition. Let's look at the feature of coloring in each image.

Natural Color
Natural color

The area with many plants like forests and grass fields is colored in green, which is our image of plant. The area with no plant and residential area are colored in raspberry.

Satellite/sensor : ADEOS/AVNIR
Location : Awaji Island, southern Osaka
Observation data : December 30, 1996

False Color
False color

The area with many plants like forests and grass fields is colored in red. The darker red depicts thicker plants, and the area with no plant is colored in gray.

True Color
True color

Artificially colored similarly to what human eyes see.
