Mt.Vesuvious is in the center of the image. Naples is located on the north coast of the half-round shaped Bay of Naples, or in the western inlet to Mt.Vesuvious. Pompeii is situated around the southern inlet to Mt.Vesuvious.
Naples forms a natural good harbour with offshore islands and the southern peninsula as ideal breakwaters. Take a good look at them and you will see a group of piers in Naples Port. Located at the south-western end of the piers is Santa Luzia Port well-known for its Naples ballad. It is endowed with a typical Mediterranean climate where the mercury does not go down below 8 degrees Celsius even in mid-winter. There are sub-tropical orange trees along the beach and beautiful offshore islands and magnificent Vesvious mountain, which is quite fitting to the saying, "See Naples and then die".

Mt.Vesvious is a double volcano with an altitude of 1,278m above sea level, and one of the active colcanoes in Europe. It erupted in August 79 AD, whish turned Pompei into a complete in a single night.

This region is one of the world's famous tourist resorts. The reuins of Pompei is one of the Naples best-known tourist spots. It has numerous remains and a museum where one can learn greatness of nature and the fragility of humans.
