Bali
Bali is located at the eastern end of Java where Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. It is a small island with an area of 140km from east to west and 85km from north to south. It is a well-known resort spot in the tropical sea, however, only a few Japanese can correctly point it out on a map. This image is of the southernmost end of Bali where many resort spots are located. The protruding part is the Bukit Badung Peninsula where the Ngurah Rai Airport, the gateway to Bali, can be seen. In the eastern bay of the peninsula, is Benoa Port. The dark spot inside the northern inland is a capital, Denpasar.
In the northern part of Bali, volcanoes such as Mt.Agung (3,142m) and Mt.Batukau (2,276m) and other mountains range in a row, constituting a highlands region. The southern side of these volcanoes makes gentle slopes where many rivers flow toward the southern coast as the amount of rainfall is very large (2,000mm per year). The land is fertile and rich in vegetation, which can be seen from the image. Whitish lines tinged with violet color can be seen near the coastline, these are coral reefs, which make for a beautiful sand beach. It is the only spot where the Hinfu Culture has still been kept, with unique traditional accomplishments among which is "Kecha" perhaps the most famous.
