"Daichi" (ALOS) was launched successfully

Advanced Land Observing Satellite "Daichi" (ALOS) was launched by H-IIA Launch Vehicle No.8 (H-IIA F8) from Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture at 10:33 a.m. on Jan. 24, 2006 (Japan Standard Time, JST).
The launch vehicle flew smoothly. "Daichi" was successfully separated in 16 minutes and 30 seconds after liftoff, into the orbit at a perigee altitude of 692.9 km, an apogee altitude of 711.4 km and an inclination angle of 98.2 degrees.
The Perth mobile station in Australia started receiving signals from "Daichi" at 10:52 a.m. (JST), and by those signals, JAXA confirmed that the solar array paddle deployment was successfully completed.
