Daily images of rainfall and sea surface temperature observed by TRMM, and satellite orbit information can be found at "Monitoring" page. Information of events such as heavy rainfall and El Nino is archived at "Topics" page.@@
High-resolution global rainfall map images are now available within four hours after observation from
TRMM TMI, Aqua AMSR-E and other satellites.
This system is developed based on activities of the JST-CREST GSMaP project using various attributes derived from TRMM PR.
System to visualize observation data of TRMM/PR, TMI and VIRS in near real time is available via internet.
This home page uses TRMM near realtime products, which are processed by NASA/GSFC and distributed 3-to-6 hours
after TRMM's observation. Users are easily to visualize TRMM data, select displaying area and size, overlay PR and
other sensor images, anddisplay them by Google Earth.
Near real-time browse images of surface precipitation over Japan area
and Asian region, observed by PR since Mar. 1999, are available.
Updating 3-to-6 hours after satellite observation.
The latent heat research products estimated by using PR 3-D rainfall
data are avilable. Those are 3-D distribution of heat energy in the
atmosphere, an "engine" for circumglobal winds.
Browse images and binary data of global sea surface temperature, total
precipitable water, cloud liquid water, observed by TMI from Dec. 1998
to Aug. 2001, are available.
Browse image and binary data of global sea surface temperature observed
by VIRS since Dec. 1998 are available. Updating 3-days after satellite
observation.
Binary data and browse images of monthly surface rainfall since Dec.
1997, selected from the TRMM Level 3 standard products (monthly and
latitude-longitude grid), are available.
