On 28th November 2014, the TRMM satellite reached its 17th birthday in the orbit.
After overlap observation with the Dual-frequency Precipitation Radar (DPR) on board the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Core Observatory launched on 28 February 2014 (JST), the TRMM Precipitation Radar (PR) completed normal mission operation on 7 October 2014 (UTC).
On the other hand, operations of the TRMM Microwave Imager (TMI) are continuing even now.
