[ Addition of SST and observation time to Near-Real-Time Images HP ] December 19, 2008
Images of sea surface temperature observed by TRMM Microwave Imager (TMI) and Visible Infrared Scanner (VIRS)
are added to Near-Real-Time Images Home Page. Information of observation time is also available. Past images will be uploaded to the site later.
[ TRMM satellite is flying over 11 years ] December 1, 2008
In 28th November 2008, the TRMM satellite reached its 11th birthday in orbit.
Thank you for your cooperations and we're looking forward to your continued assistances for TRMM.
[ TRMM X GoogleEarth Laboratory is now available ] November 12, 2008
Let's enjoy TRMM data by using "GoogleEarth"!
You will see new collaboration between TRMM and GoogleEarth from our laboratory.
[ Changing of JAXA's standard processing system of TRMM to Linux environment ] September 10, 2008
JAXA has changed the standard processing system from SGI/Origin to Linux environment since the data processes of 1 Aug. 2008.
Some source codes of the algorithms and compiler option has been changed for the Linux porting.
We confirmed that the effects due to the code changes are very minor, so we will not reprocess the products due to the system change.
NASA has also changed the standard processing system to Linux environment since June 2008. The values of standard products
provided from NASA and JAXA are slightly different due to the architectures (ex. CPU's, compilers, etc).
Our Web and ftp systems will not be available from 10:00(JST), Sep. 25 to 14:00(JST), Sep. 25 due to our facility maintenance.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
[ Server Maintenance ] June 10, 2008
Our Web system will be unavailable from 17:30, Jun. 13 to 9:30, Jun. 16 due to our facility maintenance.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
[ TRMM Near-Real-Time Images HP is available ] June 1, 2008
System to visualize observation data of TRMM/PR, TMI and VIRS in near real time is available via internet.
This home page uses TRMM near realtime products, which are processed by NASA/GSFC and distributed 3-to-6 hours
after TRMM's observation. Users are easily to visualize TRMM data, select displaying area and size, overlay PR and
other sensor images, anddisplay them by Google Earth.
[ Latent Heat Research Product released ] May 16, 2008
Three dimensional distribution of heat energy in the atmosphere, an "engine" for circum global winds, are estimated by using PR three
dimensional rainfall data, and released as the latent heat research products.
