Sao Jose dos Campos, October 1999
Dear JERS-1 Colleague:
On
behalf of the Organizing Committee (INPE/PETROBRAS/INPA) we are
pleased to invite you to the next Global Rain Forest Monitoring
(GRFM) project meeting scheduled for November 08 - 12, 1999 in
Sao Jose dos Campos, Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Boreal Rain Forest
Monitoring and the Interferometric SAR (InSAR) meeting will also
take place concomitantly.
The meeting will focus on the presentations by the Principal Investigators
and collaborators on issues related to the use of JERS-1 data
to several kinds of applications.
In addition, the meeting will offer an opportunity for all those
who have made use of JERS-1 data in their projects and who are
willing to share results and conclusions in the first day of the
event.
A field trip to a Rain Forest area around Manaus (Amazonia State)
area is also being organised by the National Institute for Amazonian
Research (INPA) for those interested to be in close contact with
the tropical forest environment.
The meeting will convene at 9:00 am on November 8 at the National
Institute for Space Research-INPE. Participants are requested
to make direct bookings with the Hotels, which are located near
the city centre of Sao Jose. We have made a block reservation.
Please refer to the GRFM/GBFM and InSAR Meeting announcement when
making your reservation. A bus will pick up the participants every
day to attend the meetings.
Please note that participants are responsible for making their
own visa arrangements. Participants are encouraged to apply for
a visa to Brasil, where required, and any necessary transit visas,
as soon as possible.
Should you require further information or wish to discuss matters
related to the meeting, please contact either Dr. Luciano Dutra
(dutra@dpi.inpe.br) or Ms. Terezinha (terezi@ltid.inpe.br).
