Your abstract of 300 to 400 words should be written in English. It should not contain illustrations nor equations. The text should first indicate the scope of the paper, the field of application of the work and briefly review the state of the art, possibly with one or two most relevant references [1]. Note that references in the abstract are not mandatory. Your abstract should adequately describe the work, clearly emphasize what is new and briefly indicate the specific theoretical, simulated and/or practical results to be presented in the full paper. A brief conclusion and indication of future work prospects should also be included.

All abstracts entered and submitted via the web site form will be allocated a unique reference number and should be automatically acknowledged by return E-mail with the reference number and the full text. This is the normal and preferred method. If you notice an error in the electronic acknowledgment that you will receive after your submission, please delete your abstract (using the dedicated web form) and resubmit a new one (you shall get a new abstract number).

For authors without access to an Internet browser, abstracts can be sent by e-mail to ostanaka@eorc.nasda.go.jp or on a diskette sent by post to the workshop secretariat, Roppongi First Bldg. 14F, 1-9-9, Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo 106-0032, Japan. Those abstracts will then be entered by the Secretariat in the web abstract form within two weeks.

The absolute deadline for the submission of abstracts is 22 December 2000. For those who cannot submit their abstract via the web site form, please make your best efforts to send your e-mail or diskette to the workshop secretariat two weeks before this deadline so that we can reprocess your input in time. If you do not receive an acknowledgment within two weeks, please contact the workshop secretariat.

Each submitted abstract will be evaluated by reviewers belong to the scientific committee. The workshop secretariat will let you know whether your abstract is accepted or not by 31 January 2000. If it is accepted, you will receive instructions to submit your full-length paper before 1 March 2001.
