This IMG WWW services is a revised version of original IMG WWW services
maintained by CRIEPI and ERSDAC until March 2000.
IMG, Interferometric Monitor for Greenhouse gases, was developed by
METI, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. IMG is one of eight sensors boarding
ADEOS,
Advanced Earth Observing Satellite, that was launched by
NASDA,
National Space Development Agency. IMG obtained detailed spectra of thermal
infrared radiation from the earth's surface and the atmosphere. Thermal
infrared spectra include absorption and emission signatures of many atmosphere
included gases. IMG's high resolution spectra will give atmospheric concentrations of water vapor and other greenhouse gases, and also temperature profile.
